Has it only been four months since Christmas time?
With the busyness of the holiday season, festivities, and squeezing as many families as I could the posting of my many beautiful Portrait Sessions did not so much happen.
Every year we, as a family reserve a local family farm to have our own family portraits taken. This past year I had the opportunity to invite a handful of families to come out and have their own Family Portraits taken at the same location. And I could not have been more in love with how wonderful of time this was!
Samantha and her beautiful little family were some of my most favorite Family Portraits during the Holiday Season. With little miss Kinslee stylish hat, Mr. Gaige sweetness, and mamma Samantha and dad Garreth sweet demeanor I could not have asked for a better Family Portrait Session.
I would give little Kinslee a quick note here and there and brother Gaige would just smile with such little ease. As we moved from each location to the next, I noticed how tender Gaige was with his little sister. I looked down for a quick second to adjust a setting and looked up to find him fixing his little sisters’ hat! Awe, I could not help but gush. And just like that Kinslee looks over at her brother and gives him the biggest hug.
I have been very fortunate to be blessed with families who book and understand the importance of preserving these special memories. I often find myself thinking about one thing my mother has always said to us “if my house is burning, we better get the pictures.”
In the business world we sometimes hear many professionals ask business owners their why? Why are you in business? Why do you do what you do? The WHY drives your every step and it is a moral compass for your business identity. My why has evolved and continues to evolve. But one of the things that always stay with me is the importance of preserving memories.
I know Samantha will look back at these portraits with love but especially the portrait of her two littles sharing a sweet organic tender moment. We didn’t ask them to hug each other, we didn’t ask Mr. Gaige to fix his little sisters’ hat, but they did, and he did.
I know Samantha will look back and be grateful. Maybe I even more now as we all navigate our current reality. She may even look back and be the most grateful. Grateful that they took the time to book a session and capture their little joyful family before the world flipped upside down.
And an even bigger thank you for letting me spend time with all of you. Your entire sessions was what we photographers call dreamy, from your demeanor, kindness, EASYNESS, fun, and JOYFUL being, from booking to delivery of portraits. Thank you for being a joy of a client to work with!
I appreciate you so much. Be safe. Be well. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon.
Sending love and virtual hugs,
Kimberly (KC)
